Q. What happens when you take bits and pieces from the little illustrations you’ve been working on and put them all together?

I’ve just added some new stuff to the shop – I love how colourful the front page looks now!
Inspired by the recent Shamballa bracelet trend, I decided to make some ‘Gumballa’ bracelets using these lovely glossy acrylic beads!
There are birch plywood earrings, the star studs have been left natural with a light wood stain and the wooden tubes have been hand painted with rainbow colours.
I’m really liking rosettes at the moment, so I thought be cute to have some real ribbon rosettes made to match the new parcel sticker.
Hope you like!
I picked up one of these gorgeous, colourful handmade resin figures by UK based artist and toy designer Tesselate last night. Even though I’m trying to curb my toy buying habit a bit I couldn’t resist the bright yellow one!
These cost just £9 + shipping and come packaged with a sticker and button badge! After making my Moriz resin figure I now know just how much work goes into producing these things, so they are definitely a massive bargain.
If you love the Keyeyes too you can grab one here. Wouldn’t they make excellent Valentine’s gifts for toy lovers too?
Just spotted these cute skull print shoes at Irregular Choice. Makes me wish I hadn’t got so used to wearing flat shoes or wedges and could still walk properly in heels! Although even wedges seem to be getting higher and higher these days, what’s up with that?! I’m already quite tall, 10cm heels just make me feel like a giant
I also spotted these ice cream lamps were on sale for just £5, bargain! I bought one of these last year. A little warning if you want one as a desk lamp, they are battery powered and they have 2 LED’s inside the whippy bit, but the light is really, really dim. They do look very cute though, mine’s pretty much just for decoration now!

It’s officially back to work day today – a day when it’s hard enough to drag yourself out of bed after some nice lay-ins at the best of times but it’s the wettest, greyest, windiest day in London! Oh well, I am actually looking forward to being able to order all the things I need to get some new ideas together… my plans to use the holidays to work on Kookizu stuff non stop were scuppered a bit when I realised that all the places I need to buy supplies from were on holiday too, oopsy >.<
I've just re-opened the shop, there a a few more items in the sale section now. You might notice that there are a few designs that are sold out at the moment, but there’s still plenty to choose from! Some of the older designs will be retired to make way for new things – things that might take me a little while longer to get in the shop, but hopefully it will be worth it!
Time for me to stop waffling and get started… maybe just one more coffee first
I just want to say a massive thanks to anybody that has supported my little shop this year! After a pretty quiet year compared to 2010, the last few months have been crazily busy and so many things sold out – this worked out pretty well as I was planning to retire a few designs to make a few changes anyway. You might have to bear with me for a while after the holidays while I work on some of the new ideas I’ve been scribbling down to see what will be possible! I’ll try and do a few updates along the way so you can see what I’m trying out once I’ve got all my supplies
The shop will reopen on Tuesday 3rd January, but in the meantime I hope you all have a lovely time over the holidays whatever you may be up to! x
to add a baby polar bear to my Christmas present list? D’awww!
Ooh lookit! If you click that little snowflake in the youtube control bar, you can make it snow on him

Here’s a handy little picture to remind you of the last posting dates for your orders to arrive before Christmas. As usual though they’re just a guideline so sooner rather than later might help to avoid any disappointment!
Just a little note as well - it’s been pretty crazy in the shop this last week or so and a few items are selling out now. It’s unlikely that I’ll have them remade in time for Christmas so if there was something you were planning on getting as a gift, get in there quick!
Paperchase have come up trumps this year with their cute little Christmas Town designs. There are all sorts of cards, wrapping paper, stickers, decorations and even a set of mini resin figures!
There’s also another range called Krafty Christmas which has some sweet designs and felt decorations. I love the paper garland kits! Haven’t made those since junior school ![]()

I also had to nab one of these kitsch flocked deers… I’m not sure why or what for yet but they were a bargain and maybe it will come in useful one day……
All this Christmas stuff reminds me – I’ll get some info up about Xmas last posting dates for Kookizu over the next few days.
I love these colourful hand sewn Hanako felt brooches, perfect for brightening up these dark gloomy days we’re getting in the UK now winter has arrived. Such perfect little stitches and all those thread colour changes and fiddly little shapes! I’ve got a lot of respect for people that can sew really well… it’s not one of my strong points
I particularly like ‘Annoyed Urban Fox’ I wonder what annoyed him?
These and many more designs are available to buy at the HanaLetters Etsy Shop and they’re all lovely so go and take a peek!
